Woody Allen had cast the lovely and oh-so-talented Meryl Streep in Manhattan, a highly successful romantic comedy. Her role as Jill Davis would win her several nominations and even more awards for Best Supporting Actress. This role catapulted her to instant stardom, despite constantly bickering with her director on set. Meryl Streep remains active to this very day, with her latest role being Aunt March in 2019’s Little Women.
