  • 3 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 tsp Chinese-style mustard
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 4 6-ounce salmon fillets
  • Olive oil to coat baking sheet
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ black pepper

The omega-3 fatty acids found in wild salmon and other fish are needed to combat heart disease. Preheat your oven to 425°F and combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, mustard, and rice vinegar in a small pot and bring to a boil. Place salmon fillets on a lightly greased baking sheet and season with salt and pepper. Bake for 12 minutes until flaky and remove from the oven. Preheat your broiler and gently brush the brown sugar mixture over the fillets to prevent breaking the perfect flakes. Place under the broiler for 3 minutes and serve. This recipe makes enough to serve 4 people.
