Indeed, there are so many restaurants in Singapore. Approximately, there are over 6000 stalls and restaurants operate just like the Chan Hom Meng. However, there is a great difference when it comes to quality and the prices. Just about a week ago, while I was wondering where to dine, I could see a lot of restaurants also known as Hawker Stalls’ and I was surely spoilt for choice. Thanks to the guide that I found online and it gave me what I was just looking for.

Amazingly, when I just read about Chan Hom Meng a restaurant that received the Michelin Star, I was so curious to have a taste of their prestigious meals. Actually, I found it a fantastic place. With fine quality meals, competitive or half-price with no compromise in quality, variety, and utmost excellent service, I really recommend Chan Hom Meng for everyone.

What about the Michelin Star?

Perhaps you are hearing this for the first time. Just like me, I didn’t know what this meant and I had to do some little research before I could make my decision. In this case, I found that, with over 6000 food stalls and restaurants in Singapore, only two have been awarded the Michelin star. One being the Chan Hom Meng.

The mention of Michelin Star made me curious and I found out that, there are so many factors that are considered by the Michelin Guide before they can award a star to any restaurant in the world. In this case, let me share the facts:

· Chan Hom Meng has got the best staff. The chefs of this amazing restaurant are well trained, competent and are very much experienced.

· The restaurant prices are just unbelievable. Imagine I used only $2 for a whole plate of rice and soya sauce chicken not to mention the prices of drinks and other food types.

· Excellent customer care experience. This is what I witnessed. Just as I entered, I was given a warm welcome by one of the waiters and in no time, I was busy dining.

· Great variety for choice. Chan Hom Meng offers a lot of variety ranging from chicken, soya, and rice among other foods. In addition, different brands of drinks are also available at competitive prices.

In conclusion, with that in mind, you have to arrange a visit yourself and check to prove the same for yourself. Of course, you will have the best experience that you have never had in any other restaurant anywhere.

How To Make A “Christmas Cheesecake”

This is a cheesecake that I have been making for over 22 years if you follow the recipe to the “T” you won’t have any problem, it is also colorful as well as the most wonderful piece of pastry that you ever put in your mouth.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine melted
  • 2 pounds cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 2 eggs
    1 cup flour
  • ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cup in total chopped candied cherries red and green raisins, walnuts, candied pineapple
  • ½ cup small chocolate chips

 

METHODS:

In a 5 quart mixing bowl place 2 pounds of cream cheese and 1 cup granulated sugar and mix on low speed until cream cheese is softened and smooth, place in bowl 8 ounces sour cream and continue mixing until well blended, at this time add 2 eggs, mix for 2 minutes then add 1 cup flour, and 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, mix on second speed until your cheesecake batter is smooth and creamy. At this time your cheesecake mixture should be fluffy like ice cream as it comes out of the ice cream machine.
Add the candied fruit, raisins, walnuts, pine apple, chocolate chips, fold everything together.

Prepare your 10 inch x 2 inches spring form pan, in a large bowl place your graham cracker crumbs and 2 tablespoons sugar, and your melted butter or margarine, then with a wire whisk, whisk them together until well combined, brush onto the sides of your spring form pan a little softened butter so the crumbs have something to hold to, place the crumbs on the sides and bottom of the pan.

 

Now you add slowly to the pan your cheesecake mix as not to disturb the crumbs too much, now you should have a full pan.
The total weight of the cheesecake with the crumbs on the sides should be 5 to 5-1/4 pounds if you have some batter leftover just chill it, put some whip cream on it and enjoy.

Preheat your oven to 275 degrees and not more, when your oven is hot place the cheesecake in it and bake for 55 minutes then shut off the oven and let it in there for 3 hours, at the end of this time you should have the most beautiful cheesecake you ever seen, let the cheesecake on the table for 1 1/2 hours then place it in the refrigerator for about 2-3 hours. Now remove it from the pan and enjoy.
Before serving sprinkle some red and green edible glitter that you can purchase at any store that has decorating supplies.

How To Make ‘Chocolate Fondue’

The next time you have company over for dessert you should serve Chocolate fondue! If you want to try something new and exciting There are many different dessert fondues to satisfy just about anyone with a sweet tooth. One choice of a dessert fondue you can make and that will also be a healthy choice, is a dark chocolate fondue.

Recently dark chocolate has been in the news being declared as a new heart healthy food, when eatan in modaration of course.

We present to you a great recipe for a delicious dark chocolate fondue.

 

INGREDIENTS:

12 ounces Premium Dark Chocolate

chopped the Chocolate

3/4 cup Whipping Cream

2 teaspoons Kahlua or other coffee liqueur

 

  • Over low flame, heat whipping cream until warm
  • Slowly add the chopped dark chocolate while stirring
  • Stir until the mixture becomes smooth
  • Stir in liqueur

Once you have the fondue heated up, be sure you have your dippers ready.  I dipped marshmallows, even pound cake ,  fruit, and biscotti.
You could dip cheesecake bites ,  brownies , pretzel sticks … anything you want!

Other recommendations to dip:
Cubes of Pound Cake, Strawberries, Sliced Apple,Chunks of Pineapple, Cubes of Angel Food Cake, Bananas, Pretzel Sticks.

Cape Town – Royale Eatery

This restaurant gave me the best burger in the world written by: Dongre I don’t know about you, but I think that burgers are the ultimate comfort food. I thought I’d had the best burgers that exist in the world today, until I came across Royale Eatery during my last visit to Cape Town in South Africa. The whole menu made my mouth water but I wanted to have a burger. My burger of choice- is called El Burro, and is considered to be a favorite among patrons. I couldn’t think of a more clichéd way to say this, but this dish is the best dish I’ve ever had, hands down!

 
My friend and I went to Royale Eatery on a Saturday night, as part of our date-night ritual to grab something to eat and try something new together. When we arrived there, I could smell the warm, flavorful aromas of real, tantalizing meat on the grill. The crowd and the atmosphere there was so laid back and relaxed. Bonus points to the staff there, who made us feel like we were their welcomed guests.

 

There is a booming culture of burger-eating in South Africa. As you know, there are burgers, and then, there are burgers! As a first try, I ordered El Burro, which was a 160-gram beef patty blended with chorizo, chilies and coriander. On top, it had mozzarella cheese, roast tomato salsa, smoked jalapenos and guacamole. I just loved all of those flavors together! I took one bite and it was like I died and went to heaven. A glass of red wine gave my evening the finishing touch.

 
This place had a charming and old-fashioned feel to it, and I was in awe of their choice of décor for each room, including collections of hats and musical instruments on the wall. Date-night didn’t feel so monotonous after all. It was quirky, and sometimes you just want to have a really good meal with the ones you love. It was one of the most relaxing evenings I’ve had in such a long time and I am just itching to go there again!

How To Make ‘Butter Cream Icing’

The best kind of icing is Butter cream icing. It has a snow-white color and a yummy taste, is the most popular choice for frosting a cake. This butter cream” is mostly used for decorating wedding cakes or any flat-surfaced cake. The best thing about butter cream is that it can be made of stiff, thin, or medium consistency, as per your requirement.

Here’s a recipe for this amazing icing:

2/3 cup of water
4 tablespoons of meringue powder
12 cups confectioner’s sugar
1 ¼ cups vegetable shortening
¾ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon almond
½ teaspoon vanilla
¼ teaspoon butter
Combine water and meringue powder in a bowl and mix it fast. Next, add four cups of confectioner’s sugar, one at a time. Mix the sugar at fast speed and lower the speed with each addition. Add the shortening, remaining sugar, salt, almond, vanilla, and butter, and mix them gently.

They even provide several vegetarian options, along with a handful of Cajun offerings and tacos.
They had a unique method of presenting barbeque. Even though I have been to different Barbeque places the experience at GOLD Restaurant Mushnikova was totally fantastic. Their customer service is excellent and the food is really delicious. The GOLD Restaurant Mushnikova has got various ways to beautify the tables with a variety of table clothes. This restaurant is good for 3 reasons: Taste, Quality, Consistency and the Barbeque get a perfect 10 on all fronts. I just couldn’t stop licking my fingers after having the butter chicken. It was totally worth the price I paid.
The way the tables are arranges truly encourages the comfort of every individual, even if it is a group or couple. The sole reason behind is that the tables are arranged to fit more than two people while the rest can accommodate only two. The surrounding environment is so peaceful. They even put soothing music in the background and decorate the dinner table with candles during night. You also get to customize the looks of your dinner table by paying a small tip.
This is a perfect place to host events like birthdays and parties. They offer on call reservations on all seasons. After that all you got to do is pay the bill and enjoy the party. I suggest that you should visit the GOLD Restaurant Mushnikova once and taste their best dish and special food. This place is good for parcel takeaways as well. I will always want to come back to this place again and again.
So next time when you get a chance to come through Prizen, Kosovo, the GOLD Restaurant Mushnikova is one of the best options if you are feeling Barbeque. I would say it is one of the best Barbeque places in the country. You really don’t want to miss one of Prizen’s best barbeque restaurants.

How To Make Delicious ‘Macarons’

There are two methods to making a Macaron – the “French” method and the “Italian” method. The difference between the two is the way the meringue is made – either Italian or French meringue can be combined with ground almonds.

A Macaron is made by combining icing sugar and ground almonds until fine. In a separate bowl, egg whites that are beaten until a meringue-like texture. The two elements are then folded together until they are the consistency of “shaving foam”, and then are piped, left to form a skin, and baked.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 egg whites
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp pink food colouring
  • 125g ground almonds
  • 225g icing sugar
  • A pinch salt
  • 12 tbsp raspberry conserve
  • 100ml cream

 

BAKING METHOD

1. Heat the oven to 160˚C and line a baking tray
with baking paper.
2. Attach the whisk and add the egg whites,
caster sugar and food colouring. Whisk on a
high speed until you have stiff peaks.
3. Remove the whisk and attach the creaming
beater. Slowly fold in the ground almond,
icing sugar and salt on a low speed. Mix
until smooth and syrupy then scrape into a
piping bag.
4. Pipe 3cm discs of the mixture onto the tray,
leaving a couple of centimetres between each
one. Tap the tray hard on the work surface to
help prevent the tops cracking and bake for
about 20 minutes or until they come away
easily from the paper.
5. Leave to cool.
6. Add the cream to the bowl and attach
the whisk. Whisk until you have soft peaks.
Remove the whisk and add the creaming
beater, add the jam and mix until combined.
7.  Sandwich the macarons together with the
jam mix and serve.
